James Valincano joined the Children’s Advocacy Center of Greater West Texas in April 2021 first as a CASA Case Manager before becoming the Director of Family Enrichment Services. James first gained his case management experience while working alongside homeless and at-risk LGBTQ+ youth and young adults in Houston, Texas prior to moving to San Angelo. James shares that he developed a passion for working with children as he learned that among the most common reasons adults experience homelessness in their lifetimes, is because of their experiences in the foster care and criminal justice systems as children. James is able to share his own personal experiences with the children and families that he serves, while developing a close rapport and unique understanding of their own situations and circumstances. By doing so, James aims to change the path that leads to living an at-risk lifestyle for as many people as possible.
James is originally from McCamey, Texas and has earned Bachelors Degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. After living in both the DFW area and the Houston area of Texas, he and his husband are proud to call San Angelo home!
