The Children’s Advocacy Center’s campus is a one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art facility focused on meeting the needs of the children and families who visit the site. This campus brings all the services a child may need to one location, significantly reducing the potential stress and trauma a child may have by needing to visit multiple locations.
After nearly 30 years of serving the children and families of the Concho Valley, it became clear that the CAC was in need of a new home, bringing all the services of the CAC under one roof. So, in 2019, local philanthropists, donors, and foundations came together to support a $10.1 million dollar capital campaign, to begin the process of creating the Stephens Campus for Children and Families.
In July 2020, construction began on the Hope House building. This building would soon serve children and families through forensic interviews, family advocacy, multi-disciplinary team coordination, and therapy services. In addition to housing CAC staff, partner agencies including San Angelo Police Department, Child Protective Investigations, Homeland Security, and Shannon Hospital would be housed on site to better serve children in their time of need.
